Happy-Almost-New-Years! I figured I would do a yearly round up. So many miniatures completed this year! Here's a brief round up of some of my favorite miniatures I've painted.
I figured this is a good place for my to keep my thoughts about all my tabletop adventures. I will will keep thoughts about lists, pics of completed models and WIP, and maybe even some slimmed down battle reports.

December Building Round-Up: Pallets & Spawn & Rogue Traders, Oh My!
Twas the Night before Christmas,
and all through the house,
All the creatures were purging
and cleaning
Especially the future spouse
Away terrain
Away paint
Away miniatures so small
To hide until the Yuletide festivities
are past for all.
Merry Christmas Eve & Happy Holidays! Here at the Blockade household, we've been especially busy with trees and decoration & baking. But this month has also seen a variety of event & future event planning & even some miniature painting!

Over the weekend, I had a little time to work on the hobby. While I didn't finish any one project, I did make progress on a few.

Possible Battlewagon Conversion
With the release of the new codex I have been thinking I could use a third battlewagon for my battlewagon blitz tactic. Since being burned by the second hand market and the kit being sold out last time I checked I have been looking at what I can convert. Enter the Mage Knight Dwarven Steam Behemoth.

After a few weeks of work I am declaring Gordo done. I do see a few items that I can touch up but for the most part he is done and I am happy.

I thought I would give an update to show what I have been working on. With the upcoming holiday I have not had a lot of time to sit down and relax with my paints but I have done some work.

Blood Sisters
After working on the Morkanaut for a few weeks I felt I needed a palette cleanser. I have a game of Age of Sigmar on the books this Thursday so I thought I would paint up the third squad of Blood Sisters so my whole army would be painted.

Grenndal's Year in Review
With 2018 winding down, I start to look and reflect on what I have done and what I planned to do through this year. While there is still time to finish up (or start) some last minute projects. As it stands now I have done 82 infantry sized models, 4 monsters, 4 vehicles, 2 super heavies, and 5 pieces of terrain. Not that bad of a tally. Let’s dive in and see how it all breaks down and how true I stood to my pledge

Genestealer Cult Hype
Over the weekend, Games Workshop had the Vigilus Weekender in which they had some of the upcoming Genestealer Cult(GSC) models on display. These leaks have got me interested again in the cult ( I still love you orks). The Warhammer Community even went out on a limb and said that the GSC codex is next. Seeing that only the GSC or the sisters, it is not a big surprise. Lets look at the models and I will give my ramblings about them.

Gordo the Gorkanaut
Way back in 2014 Games workshop released the gorkanaut. I always wanted one but could never bring myself to buy one. There just was better ways than him to fill the rolls he fills. While the new codex does not make him the bees knees, it does make it close enough for the rule of cool to come into play. Enter el Gordo.
Building him was relatively easy. That being said, I wanted to have the flexibility to make either a gorkanaut or morkanaut so I needed to magnetize. Looking at the two builds, there are a few differences: the main gun, the chest gun, and a Kustom Force Field (KFF).

More Grots!
If you want to have a bunch of command points in the new codex you are going to need grots. Right now I have thirty of them but not all are painted. With these eight I have painted 2/3 of them.

What's on my table
I thought I would give an update on my paining table this week. With all the progress on my Speed Freeks boxset I don't have a lot of orks on my table right now. lets take a look.
The Lydia Incident - Background & Campaign Missions
Hi all,
Hopefully everyone saw the first Lydia Incident post earlier this month. This whole campaign is a second continuation of the first group campaign I ever ran. I'll be attaching various files here so that people can see, explore, and use as they see fit. Feel free to use whatever you'd like. They were written with 7th edition in mind, but they should still be fine to use with 8th edition lists and rules. I've converted them all from Word to Google Docs, so there may be a few issues with formatting.

Showcase: Speed Freek Terrain
After finishing most of the Speed Freeks boxset, I turned to the terrain that came with it. I figured I can use this as some scatter terrain during my games at home or it will be nice to have the set totally painted if I ever try to play the actual game.
There is not much to say about the terrain. I based it black, then heavy drybrush of silver. I then picked out pieces in the colors of my ork clans. My ork vehicles have red, blue, and green
Wile the detail is pretty good I am a little disappointed on a few pieces. On one piece there is a stack of tires and it seems they were a bit lazy when scuplting them. Instead of making them a stack they juts have one long tire. This just looks odd when you start to really look. The good thing is it is just terrain so most people will just glance at it and move on.
With these done I just have the Kustom Boosta-Blasta to finish. I am hoping to complete that this week and move on to the Snazzwagon. I also would like to get my Blood Sisters done as well. Then It is off to paint my grots. I plan on using them in my current build and I would like them to be painted. I feel I can get all 26 done before the end of the year. I also want to finish my Fire Raptor... Man I have a lot of work to do.

Narrative Campaign - The Lydia Incident
Hi All,
So to continually push myself, I've been exploring how to do a solo person narrative campaign that ties in Kill Team, Small scale missions, and works around my relatively hectic schedule. The missions posted are welcome to be used by any gaming club/group, etc., just be sure to give credit! (Regardless of alterations, etc). Please note that these posts may be longer than normal and may not contain tons of pictures. I'd love feedback, questions, or ideas of where to go! So here we go, entering into the Lydia Incident, part one.(also, sorry if the formatting is weird, copying and pasting from Google docs seems to not make Blogger happy.)

Welcome to the last day of Orktober. I was hoping to have to codex before this day came but at least I know it is on its way. To celebrate I thought I would show off all my painted orks. While it is a lot of models I thought I had more… be warned, a lot of pictures incoming.

Goodbye to Deathwatch
Hi all!
With the decision to allow my 1500 point Deathwatch Army to move on to greener pastures, I've decided to post the photos of the entire army before letting it travel on it's merry way (To Wisconsin, so the bases match at least :-) So here's my photos of the army for you to enjoy!
