Taurox Prime

With all of the Scions I have been painting lately, I thought I could use a ride for them. So I took some birthday money and got me the start collecting box.

Scions

I posted a while back about working on the Scions.  I finally finished my first set out of three.

 

In this set I have three hot shot lasgun, a volley gun, and a sergeant. I never know how I want to use them but I always know I need a couple of sergeants and some of the basic troops

I went with red eyes and red lights with these stormtroopers.  I also went with blue tubes since these are hot shots lasguns and I have not used that color before.  I think it looks good on these troops. 

I love these troops.  Maybe sometime I might try to make a Scion only army but I would need to add in some taurox.  Maybe I need to keep an eye out for some second hand models.

Back when I built these guys I loved the volley gun.  I think it is a decent weapon it is not as strong as a plasma gun but it does have four shots at AP -2.  It can help with killing hordes.

With these done I have have another two squads to paint.  One is already primed and partially painted and the other squad is built and waiting for prime. While I won't be finishing them right away I hope I can get them done this year.

It is funny, I thought I took out all of my models that need to be painted or built and placed them on my table of shame. Yesterday, I started working on the box of Scions I won from a charity event two years ago (WOW! where did the time go?) This got me thinking of the Scions I own and low and behold I found more work to do.

Narrative Campaign - The Lydia Incident

So to continually push myself, I've been exploring how to do a solo person narrative campaign that ties in Kill Team, Small scale missions, and works around my relatively hectic schedule. The missions posted are welcome to be used by any gaming club/group, etc., just be sure to give credit! (Regardless of alterations, etc). Please note that these posts may be longer than normal and may not contain tons of pictures. I'd love feedback, questions, or ideas of where to go! Greetings! I have an awesome review of a purchased upgrade kit for the Taurox Imperial Guard  Astra Manofsteel Fine, the Astra Militarum. Many of you remember it last looked like this when I built it right after the holidays.

Showcase: Astra Militarum Manticore

Last weekend I played in a 16k per side Apocalypse game.  I play my Ad mech with some guard support. looking through what I had painted I noticed that the manticore I got, built, and primed over a decade or so ago was still just primed.  Well, it is only primed no longer.

Showcase: heavy weapon teams

Last Weekend, I got some games in with my Ad Mech army. The only problem was that I did not have the Kataphron Destroyers that completes my 1500 point lists.  My group was kind enough to let me proxy something similar (like any good group should) and I chose to use my Imperial Guard heavy weapon teams.

Last night I finished up painting the Scions I just built.  It is weird that I had not finished the others before taking on these guys but they were sitting there on my station all primed and ready to go so, I finished them.

WIP: Scions again

With the league starting up this week I thought I should work on my Scions since I was going to use them for my kill team.  After building all that I have, I noticed that I am missing a few things.
