I made a piece of terrain

During this shelter in place, I have had a lot of time to watch terrain builders so I thought I would make some of my own.

This is a quick and easy hill using dollar tree foam and cheap paints.  The most expensive thing was the Mod Podge I used as a protective coat.  I think I have seen that at the Dollar Tree as well.

If there is any interest I could give a step by step.

Questions? Comments? The hills are alive with the sound of Dakka!

The butterfly strikes again!: Working with Decals

The hobby butterfly has struck again.  This time it was for a good cause.  Last week We talked about Azazel's  August Technical Painting Challenge and I pledged to take a step out of my comfort zone and finally ad the decals for my primaris marines.

April Hobby Update: Thousand Sons Rhino & Goliath Rockcrusher

Hi all!

Been a busy bee this last week, and here's what I've got to show for it. I finished my birthday gifts to myself and from the gf, my Rockcrusher (Counts-As-Predator) and my Rhino. (She's generally pacifist, so when I told her she got me the most pacifist vehicle available in warhammer outside of the Arvus lighter, she was quite pleased with her luck.)

Blockade's Goals For the New Year

Hi All!

Blockade here, to share his lovely hobby goals with you all this year. Last year I was on a no-spending year for miniatures in an effort to paint as much as possible. I was successful for 11 months! December, and a new Games Workshop opening near me did me in. Argh! But that's okay, because this year I have the same goal. Paint way more than I purchase (hopefully purchasing nothing, as the budget does not allow for much.)

Casting

One of my friends wanted to know how I did my casting.  Before I get into my process I just have a disclaimer that this is not the best way but it is a way that I can get to work.  For some reason resin just doesn't like me.  That being said, lets get started shall we?

Hobby Time: DIY Wound Markers

With the release of 8th edition we have seen an increase of wounds on most of the non infantry models out there.  Most of these have more than 6 wound making them harder to track with our standard dice.  We could use mulitple dice or different dice to keep track but I think maybe a wound counter might be a better solution.

Hobby Time: Magnetizine the Onager Dunecrawler.

This weekend Atom James requested to see how I magnetized my Onager Dunecrawler.  While, how I did it my not have been pretty or even the best way to do it, I believe that it looks decent and they stay together pretty well.
