Blood Stalker

To continue the procrastination, I decided to work on a Blood Stalker.  I have had these for a while and just recently built them.  Here is my first finished one. 

Bladegheist Revenants

A few posts ago I talked about finishing up the  Bladegheist Revenants.  Since I felt the hobby itch I decided to complete the squad.

All of these guys had tombstones except one so I added one so he didn't feel left out.

Again it feels good to take another unit off the table of shame. I am going to try to do the Ptraxii next so I can end the year with a good note.

Nighthaunt Bladegheist Revenants

 

I decided for a change of pace.  I have been working on 40K a lot lately and I have these Nighthaunt just begging to be finished so I painted up some spooky bois.

After all the Necrons,  I needed a palette cleaner.  I decided to start working on the Underworlds Blade-Coven warband. I doubt I will ever play these this warband but I can use them in my Daughters army.

With only a few hours left in the year, my final post will be my Thorns of the Briar Queen.

I have been working off pledges from my Kanban board for 2019.  With all of those projects staring me down I turned my back on all of those projects and started working on the Briar Queen and her Thorns.

It has been a busy couple of weeks.  I have had a bit of hobby time but I have not had the time to put the photos up to the blog or time to write a blog.  With that said,  here are a few of the things I have been working on.

I needed a breather from all the 40k so I decided to paint some of my neglected Nighthaunt.

I had a busy weekend so I didn't get much finished.  I was able to finish the Chainrasps though as well as do some detail work on a Glaivewraith Stalker.

This weekend I found some time to finish the squad of Glaivewraith Stalkers for my Nighthaunt army.

I was able to find the time to finish up one of my Glaivewraith Stalkers.  I am close with another two so maybe early this weekend I will have them done. 

Mourngul finished

This weekend, I continued to work on my Mourngul for Age of Sigmar.  If you don't count basing, he is complete.

Reikenor the Grimhailer

Continuing my work on the new army, I picked up Reikenor the Grimhailer to be one of my leaders.  My FLGS was having a "buy one get, one half off" sale and while I was picking up my chapter approved I decided to get half off Reikenor.

New year means new army.  In the dying embers of 2018 I decided to take the plunge into a second Age of Sigmar army. After many debates with myself I chose the nighthaunt.

Impressions from the table: Daughters of Khaine

Last week I probably had my last game of the year.  I played a game of Age of Sigmar with a buddy at our local game store.  I brought my daughters along.  I don't have a blow by blow but I do have some thoughts that I thought I would share.

Blood Sisters

After working on the Morkanaut for a few weeks I felt I needed a palette cleanser.  I have a game of Age of Sigmar on the books this Thursday so I thought I would paint up the third squad of Blood Sisters so my whole army would be painted.

Showcase: Alternate Witch Elves

 

I was looking at my hobby area the other day.  There are about 30 models that I am “working” on.  I keep adding more and more models to the pile before removing any.  My goal over this month is try to clear some of them off before Orktober.  I am starting with the Witch Elves.

 

Showcase: Mini Morathi

 So, it is a new week and I actually had some time this weekend to do a bit of hobby-ing.  My last post I completed the large Morathi model. Well, today I have pictures of the other half of that unit, the small Morathi model.

This model seemed to paint up quickly.  I started with the red and, before I knew it, I was finishing up the base and gluing down the basing material. While painting her, I ran into a couple of problems.

My first problem was that the arm with the spear came off.  I decided that I would use that to my advantange and work around the spots that were hard to get to if the spear was there.  A part of me wished to do this with her head, since the hair block some of the details on her dress and back but in the end I didn't.

Speaking of her hair, deciding which color to paint it was theother problem I had while working on the model.  I thought about matching it the the hair from the other models from the Daughters army and go with a blue.  I also thought about what the hair becomes when the model transforms into the larger model.  In the end, I decided to match the hair with the snakes on the larger model.  While I think matching the army would be nice, I thought matching the larger version made more sense.

Completing this model finishes my pledge for the month.  I am free to move on to other projects.  I have several in the works. I think I need to try to work on some 40k models since I have had worked on a lot of AoS lately.  Hopefully, I can even find a game this Thursday. We shall see.

Showcase: Morathi

 

Ever since I saw this model I have wanted to own it.  Today I have completed (after a couple of touch ups) the model and I am really happy with how it turned out.
