So Long and Thanks For All the Fish.

With all of the news coming in about 8^th edition, I wanted to look back on my record in 7^th.  My group has one last hurrah left and that will be a big apocalypse game.  Since that won’t affect my records, we can look at how I did this edition.

Skyhammer Annihilation Force

This weekend the Space Marine Codex came out and with it Games Workshop decided to release a web exclusive limited release formation that is out of this world.

The Skyhammer Annihilation Force is an awesome tool for any Space Marine player.  In essence it is two drop pods, two squads of Assault marines and two squads of devastators.  Nothing overpowered there.  Where the fun come in is with the four special rules: Shock Deployment, First the fire, then the Blade, Suppressing Fusillade and Leave no Survivors. Let's talk about that.

First games of the year.

This weekend I Joined an ongoing campaign with a local group I meet on Meetup.com. The guys I met, Daniel and Tim were cool and laid back.  That is just the type of players I want to be hanging out with.

WIP Astra Militarum Scion

This weekend I have had a little time to work on an Astra Militarum Scion trooper.

WIP: second Riptide, pathfinder mini

Last week I received a package in the mail that had my second riptide.  I was worried that it was a bit shady seeing I got it for half price.  My worries came true.

Getting ready for tournament.

With an upcoming tournament I thought I would put a few lists together and see how the look. It is 1000 points anything goes. We will also be using the maelstrom of war missions. This month is bug month so the Tyranids will be taking the field.

WIP: Big Mek on bike.

With the new book we now get an option for a big mek on bike with a kustom force field (KFF) or shock attack gun. While the shock attack gun seems funny, I want a KFF on a bike to help wit hthe 5++ save.

Another game with the Orks!

My amazingly thoughtful wife suggested, since our lives would be busy the next couple of weeks, that I should try to get in a game of 40k this weekend while she hung out with one of her girlfriends.  This was an excellent idea and I thank her very much.

Wednesday night I had the oppertunity to play with the new orks. I played in a 2v2 game where I was teamed up with a chaos space marine player against a grey knight / IG / Spacewolf army that included a bane blade.

As promised, today I have not one but 3 lists for you.  I looked through the codex and I think I have come to the same conclusion that every one else has, this edition is about a lot of boyz.

Finally, my first game of 7th

Yesterday I finally got around to buying my 7th edition rulebook.  After a brief look though I actually also got in my first game of 7th as well.
