My first keeper

 

So I got a 3d printer for Christmas and I working through the learning curve. After a few trial and errors, I have my first piece I am going to keep.

Pteraxii Sterylizor

 As the year winds down I have given myself a goal of finishing my squad of Pteraxii Sterylizors. I finished two of these earlier this year and want to finish this squad.  This is my third finished model.

Year End Summation

The year is winding down and it is time for me to reflect on what I have accomplished for the year. It has been a crazy year.  I started with the intention of using a Kanban board to help me stay on track but that idea died pretty early on. So strap in and let’s see how far off I drifted from my plan.   

 

Tyranids

This year I have neglected my tyranids.  I have not done a thing with them.  I started to look at the carnifex but saw that I needed to put in the magnets so I picked another project to work on.  Maybe next year guys.

Genestealer cult.

I finished up the Ridgerunners and Bikes.  I have a handful of acolytes and the santus left to finish.  Not too shabby.

Orks

I have painted a few orks through the year including the big man himself Ghaz! I painted up a kan as well.  I still have 3 to build and another to paint. I have plans for some buggies but will push that into the new year. I made Progress at least.

Tau

I was able to get the devilfish painted for them but have not done anything else.  I have been on the fence about selling off the army but I know I will regret it the moment I do it.  I did play a few games in January and had fun so I might still keep them.

Sisters of Battle

I did paint up a lot of sisters this year.  I painted a total of 43 infantry, three vehicles, and worked on the terrain. I did stall out on the triumph and have misplaced one of the members.  I hope I can find her and finally finish that awesome model.  I still have four vehicles to paint as well as a penitent engine. Over all it is not a bad start to the army.  I think with a little courage I can finish off what I have and be ready early next year.

Adeptus Mechanicus

I knew there was going to be a new flyer this year but I didn’t know about the other new models. I painted up two sets of the Sulpherhounds as well as a second set of Electropriests.  I also painted the flyer and am half way through the Pteraxii.  I still have the Forgeworld troops to finish.  I just was never motivated to get them done since they lay outside the forge worlds.  Maybe in the new year I will have time to work on them.

Necrons

While I didn’t work on the destroyers or the command barge like I wanted, I did add in a bunch of them to my collection. 40 warriors, 6 skorpek destroyers, 3 ophydian destroyers, 2 shards, 3 walkers, several characters, and 12 scarabs.  I also updated a squad of immortals and  a doom scythe.  I have several things left on my table that might get done before the new year.  This was my sleeper project this year. I look forward to actually getting to play them soon.

Guard

I have done nothing for my guard this year.  If I am good I will finish the Wyvern which is 85% complete.  I just need to paint the crew and maybe highlight the tank. The Valkyries will have to wait.

Nighthaunt

I really haven’t done a lot for Age of Sigmar.  I started working on the Black Coach and actually finished a squad Bladegheist.  I really want to focus on finishing the few models I have left for these guys.

Daughters of Khaine.

I have assembled the box of Blood Sisters as a box of Blood Seekers to get me closer to one of the batalions for my daughters.  I also picked up the Underworlds team and started to paint them finishing up two of the five models.  Finishing these would be another easy win.

Space Marines

Finally we have my space marines.  Most of my models are old (for primaris models) and not the most optimal choice for playing.  I have not made any progress on the raptor except gluing on the canopy.  I have been tempted to get the new models but decided to stick with my Xenos.  I don’t plan on getting rid of the marines I have but I don’t see me adding to them any time soon.

Well there you go.  I didn’t stick to my plans very well.  I don’t know if I will set any goals next year.  I don’t seem to stick too many of my plans.  I just might take an inventory of what I have an see if I can work some of this off before this time next year.

Bladegheist Revenants

A few posts ago I talked about finishing up the  Bladegheist Revenants.  Since I felt the hobby itch I decided to complete the squad.

All of these guys had tombstones except one so I added one so he didn't feel left out.

Again it feels good to take another unit off the table of shame. I am going to try to do the Ptraxii next so I can end the year with a good note.

Working on clearing off my Table of Shame, I decided to work on the Ork Bunker that I picked up a while back.

Ophydian Destroyer

I had finished these a while ago but never posted them.  I like the looks of these guys but I am not sure I see a place for them. 

Necron lord

After finishing the latest Daughters of Khaine I decided I wanted to fix up an old Necron Lord. This is an old metal model that I had lying around.  He was broken and had an older paint job so, it was time for an updo!

After all the Necrons,  I needed a palette cleaner.  I decided to start working on the Underworlds Blade-Coven warband. I doubt I will ever play these this warband but I can use them in my Daughters army.

Shard of the Void Dragon

With the Nightbringer finished it is only fitting to work on his brother the Shard of the Void Dragon.

Alternate Nightbringer

The Nightbringer C’tan shard has seen a huge buff this edition.  Since I didn’t have one, GW was out of stock, and I saw an excellent replacement, I pulled the trigger on Creature Caster’s Death Elemental. 

Orktober: Killa Kan

So I have been focusing on Necrons this Orktober and I feel shame.  But I did get a little side project done as well just to say I celebrated Orktober. I finished a Killa Kan (mostly)

Hexmark Destroyer

 With the two Stalkers done, I decided to work on the new Hexmark Destroyer.

Dreadtober: Second Doomstalker

 I found some hobby time this weekend and was able to finish my second doomstalker.  Looks Like I was calling it the wrongs thing.  Oh well lets take a look.

Dreadtober: Necron Doomsday Stalker

 Last we I pledged 2 Doomsday Stalkers and a Killa Kan for Dreadtober.  Since then I have worked on finishing one of the Stalkers so I thought I would show him off.

It is that time of the year again, Dreadtober! I know I have not been very active here of late but I do have a couple of models I am working on that fit the bill.  I pledge 2 Doomsday Stalkers for the month of Dreadtober.   

Shorehammer Plans

 

With the state of the world and the status of my family and me being high risk I have decided that I am going to bow out of Shorehammer this year.  Even with every precaution that the organizers have put into making it safe I just don’t think it is worth the gamble of being on an airplane and then around all the people. 

This time has been really hard on my hobby.  I find it harder and harder to be motivated to work on the hobby. I still get excited by the new models but I am having a hard time to keep painting when I don’t get to play.   

Hopefully, someday soon I will be able to throw down some dice and Waaaaaagh across the board and enjoy playing. Until then…

Skorpekh Destroyers

Work has been crazy lately and taking a lot of my time.  With what little time I find, I have been finishing up my boxes of Indomitus. This brings us to my Skorpekh Destroyers.

Necron Warriors

 

In the Indomitus Box set there are 20 warriors.  I split 2 boxes with a buddy so that left me with 40 warriors to build an paint.  It took me a while but here they are.

Updated Cryptek

With the new necrons I have been working on I took some time to update the Cryptek to match with my current scheme.

Skorpeth Destroyers vs Canoptek Wraiths

 

My last post compared the two destroyer lords and how they stack up. Today I want to explore the Skorpekh Destroyers vs Wraiths. Both of these units are melee focused heavy hitters so I think the comparison is valid.

I have continued to work on my Necrons from the new box set.  Here are a few more completed models.

With then releases, the new units seem to try to fill some gaps we already have filled.  The first of these that I am looking at is the Skorpk Lord vs the Destroyer Lord.

 

What I have been working on.

Hey Guys, it has been a crazy couple of weeks and I have not had the time to do a blog post in a while.  I have painted up some necrons since the last post so I thought I would post all my pictures here for now and maybe this week I can write up my thoughts of the new necron units.  So if you want to see my mediocre paintings, come in it.

Illuminor Szeras

So I know I said I was going to finish my Pteraxii before working on my Necrons but the Illuminor was calling my name.  I picked up the big guy last week, built, and painted him in time for the 9th Edition release.

Pteraxii Sterylizor Alpha

With the Sulpherhounds done, I have moved on to the Pteraxii Sterylizors.  After building and priming I started working on the alpha.

Sulphurhounds Complete

This weekend I put the finishing touches on my Sulphurhounds. I love the looks of these guys and want 3 more so I have a full squad if I want them.  For now though, I am happy with my six.

I made a piece of terrain

During this shelter in place, I have had a lot of time to watch terrain builders so I thought I would make some of my own.

This is a quick and easy hill using dollar tree foam and cheap paints.  The most expensive thing was the Mod Podge I used as a protective coat.  I think I have seen that at the Dollar Tree as well.

Genestealer Achilles Ridgerunner

The hobby butterfly has visited me and it landed on one of my Genestealer Achilles Ridgerunners. I actually had this model mostly painted, so I went for a quick win and decided to finish it.

My First Serberys Sulphurhound

Taking a break from the Sisters of Battle, I wanted to paint up the newest Ad Mech unit: Serberys Sulphurhounds.

Finished Seraphim

In my last post, I said I was working out my Seraphim.  After taking some time painting their exhausts, I have finished the squad. These are the last 5 Seraphim I had to paint.

New Gun for Warriors

The dust is settling on the big new of 9th edition of 40K and the preview of the new Necrons.  I am excited for all the new stuff coming especially the Skorpekh Lord.
