January Update

It is a new year, and I am going start it off right with my monthly update. I am going to try to do better this year and post these updates every month. I wasn’t bad last year but there is room for improvement. Most of this month has been my mechanicum army so lets jump in and see what is done.

February Update

 

Hey, I came back with another update! This month was mostly a Ironjaws month with a sprinkle of Tyranids and one sneaky Ork. You can see my progress through the month on Instagram if you don't want to wait for these updates.

Showcase: Hive Guard

After finishing with the Morathi models I decided to go back to my roots and finish my set of hive guard.

In the middle of working on the raptor, my daughters of Khaine and the Forgebane set I decided to go to my roots and paint the Stonecrusher Carnifex I got for my birthday.

#Squaduary Completed

This weekend I had some time to complete my genestealers for the #squaduary 2018 event.

#Dreadtober Project Complete!

I was worried I wouldn't finish on time but the Toxicrene is complete. While I didn't get to reshape the tentacles the way I wanted to I think he turned out alright.

Last week I brought back the bugs to duke it out at the Thursday night league night.  One of the workers was disappointed when I brought my orks last time so to make him happy, my tyranids got to come back for more biomass.

A 40k Welcome to the Mid-West

This Week, I had my first 40k game in the "new" town.  I played at my the old haunt of Fantasy Books and Games.  It was their typical 40k league night and they are running the "Fate of Konor" campaign.  I decided to bring my space bugs and man were they hungry.

WIP hormagaunts

In 8^th edition, the role of the lowly termagant has changed slightly.  Sure they are still cheap little guys that help bubble wrap our larger monsters from charges.  The difference now I don't need the never ending supply of models since the tervigon doesn’t make new units unless I set aside points for it.  This means that I don’t have to worry about not having enough models when it is time to make more guys since I am only replenishing models that have died.  So, when I found a fresh box of termagants I thought why not makes some hormagaunts.

Feelings, nothing more than feelings

Last week, I looked at the past and how I did in 7^th.  Today I think I will take a look at what we have seen for 8^th with three of my favorite factions: Tyranids, Orks, and Genestealer cult.

Showcase: Mawloc

This weekend I finished up painting my mawloc.

Showcase: Mieotic Spore

 Here is my second Mieotic spore.  I plan on using them as mucolid spores.  They are about the right size and will do the job nicely.

Showcase: Malanthrope

 I know I haven't posted in a while but I was out of town and before that I was getting ready to head out.  I did complete my second Malanthrope since then and so here he is.

Showcase: Tyranid Mieotic Spore

After finishing the Destroyer I started working on the Mieotic Spore that a friend has given me.  He was doing some clearing out gave me 6 of these guys and a Malanthrope.  I am very thankful and waiting to return the favor down the line.

Showcase: Forgeworld Tyrant

This weekend I took what little hobby time I could find and finished painting the arms for the Forgeworld Tyrant.

My Friend was very nice and offered me this old Forgeworld tyrant. He said he didn't think he would use him and thought my fleet could absorb him.  He was right!  After a little cleanup I thought about how to arm him... pun not intended... funny though >_< 

Genestealer cult rules rumors

Coming in this week's White Dwarf are the rules to the Genestealer Cult that is in the new Deathwatch game. I have seen them all over the place so it wont take log to find them if you want to see them.  I am going to go over each unit and try to give my first impressions.

Showcase: Mucolid Spore

This weekend I found some time to paint up my Mucolid Spore. The model is interesting and I had a hard time figuring out what to paint blue or green or olive.  It came together pretty quick after I decided.

After painting up my Kastelan I thought I would take a break and paint up some termagants.  It seams like they are never all painted.
