Showcase: Exocrine

Last night I got to add the finishing touches on my newest exocrine.  I am still waiting for a base for this guy but he is done.

The Third Exocrine

Hey Gang,  I am sorry that I have been quiet lately.  I was out of town and did not get a lot of time to do any hobby work.  I did finish up my second Dunecrawler and hope to have a post about it in the next couple of days.  Today's post will be about my third Exocrine.

WIP Exocrine

The last couple of days I have been painting my Exocrine incase I need him for the tournament on the 30th.  this model used to be my Tyranofex(Tfex) before there was a Tfex model.  After he took a nose dive, I looked at what I had and decided he could be modeled as a Exocrine.

WIP Rebuilding the custom Exocrine.

You might remember my scratch built exocrine took a swan dive and broke into many little pieces. Since then, I started the task of rebuilding him.  I didn't just want to put him back together I wanted to improve him.

AHHHHHH!. Death of a model.

Just after writing up my last post I took out my finished bugs to put a coat of enamel on them and things went down hill from there.

My custom Exocrine took a fall and smashed into a few pieces.

I don't think he is beyond repair but I am sad that he broke apart. I am going to change out the scything talons on him and take of the middle arms off.  So while I thought I was finished with this guy it looks like he is on my workbench again.

I started working on him and cleaned up his arm sockets.  I will probably drill out the sockets as well to give them some depth.

WIP: basing

This weekend I finally got my flock out and started to finish up some of my models.  I am the laziest when it come to doing finishing a model so I tried to do a big batch of guys.

Exocrine Finished

I took some time to finish highlighting my exocrine.

WIP: More bug!

Yeasterday I posted pics of my new biovore brood and it was pointed out that the big one is actually a pryrovore.  I feel so silly.  I would never use one of those in a game (they are so bad) I always thought they looked a lot cooler than the silly little biovores.  Normally I would shrug and be ok with it and just let my opponent know that it is a biovore.

WIP: artillery bugs

After several months of the new codex, a lot of players have been loving using a group of biovores.  Seeing that GW want $42 for one model I just never could bring myself to buying them. $120 is not in my budget for something I am not sure of.

WIP: Exocrine/Haruspex and Hive Guard/Tyrant Guard

I am continuing a break in my review of the codex to work on my new models.  I wanted to Build these in a way I could use all the options.  First lets look at the Hive Guard.

Latest Bug Pictures and more of my impressions.

There are more new pictures out there on the web for the new Tyranid pictures.  The big Bell of Lost Souls forum post had them on Christmas day but I thought I would put them up here and then give my impressions of them.
