It is a new year, and I am going start it off right with my monthly update. I am going to try to do better this year and post these updates every month. I wasn’t bad last year but there is room for improvement. Most of this month has been my mechanicum army so lets jump in and see what is done.
Arlatax
First out of the gate is a custom model. As of this moment there is not a model for this unit produced by Games Workshop (GW). It is based on a Domitar with a jump pack added as well as a flail and claw. I love this model and like how they added the smoke supports to give it a more active pose and not use an acrylic rod. I have yet to play this game but my army is coming closer to being ready. I hope soon I will find some time to get to the shop and roll some dice.
Archmagos in Abayent
While GW does have this model I am not a huge fan. I found this alternate model and want to give it a try. It has a creepy face with cables coming out of the mouth removing the Archmagos further from the weakness of flesh. If this is not allowed I will use Cawl as a proxy since it is a similar profile.
Thanatar
This big boy is pretty cool looking. I printed out a second one with the other weapon option but this is the genuine model. I love the big clunky robots and can’t wait to see how they do on the board.
Hive Tyrant
Lastly, I have a custom hive tyrant. I love the pose on this guy and my only complaint is on how thin it feels. I already have several of these models but another variation never hurts. I love the reverse blades on the bonesword and the lash whip is a beefy addition. He is right at home with the rest of my fleet.
There you go another month of hobby-ing down. I am close to finishing a few other pieces so expect them in February. As always, I hope you all can find the time and motivation to slay the gray.
