Another month has past and while I get to play in a game of 30k, it has been a slow month. I did finish painting a few models as well as assemble others. I am looking forward to traveling this month back to DC where I anticipate two days for fun, good friends, and WAR!!!! There is always war.
30K Apocalypse battle
The first thing I want to mention is the apocalypse game. It was a great time. I brought almost every Mechanicum model I had, a Knight Acheron, two Warglaives, and the Warhound. My forces were wittled down to just a Tech Priest, a Thanatar, and the Warhound. The only reason the warhoud survived was because it was facing off against a Warlord and it is hard to believe but it was not the biggest threat so it was left alone pinging hull points. I was just happy that I got to roll the dice and have a better chance to learn my rules.
Warhound Titan
Speaking of the Warhound, I finished building and painting it this month. While I did notice a weird mark on the carapace that I want to fix and I also want to go over the metal parts with a wash but I am really happy on how the print turned out. I am tempted to print another top part so I can have other weapon options. I either want to figure out how to magnetize it or find some other way to attach the arms. Either way I just might be looking on how to improve the model.
Thallax Cohort
I also completed painting another Thallax Cohort. Actually I finished 4 models in the group. I also started another big batch. I plan to have all my thallax painted by the end of May. This includes another batch I just finished printing. Standard paint job on these guys. I found that if I do a layer of white on the armor the purple goes on better so this is how I will paint it from now on. It might take a few extra steps but it is worth it.
Acastus Knight Porphrypion
I have started printing my next Knight, the mighty Acastus Knight Porphrypion. I love the big chonky look of this guy. I have not had a chance to look at its rules but in the end it doesn’t matter since it is just cool. I am almost to the point of just needing to print up the armor plates and the few bit and bobs on the resin printer. He is looking really cool.
Well that is all for this month. Next up is more Thallax, some Castelax, some necromunda models, and finishing the Porphrypion. Hope you all had a good month and I will see you all next time. Remember to try to find some time to slay the grey.
