I had a decent month this time. As usual it was heavily Mechanicum focused but that is not surprising with that being the game I am currently playing. Let’s take a look.
Krios
I have done a lot of robots for the mechanicum army, but they do have some Tanks. This tank was not to hard to finish. I chose to go with the Venator version with a pulsar-fusil. I felt like I needed some tank killing power so this was the best option. I have a second one that I need to build and then the tank-hunting brothers can deploy.
Thallax
Speaking of robots, I finished up another small squad of thallax. I am slowly working my way through these guys. I have a few of left and will try to get more done next month. Nothing spectacular about them just your normal beep boops.
Archmagos from wargame exclusive
This new edition has a lot of emphasis on the use of priests. You have a arch magos and a few dominus and some smaller techpriests. I had the big boy covered with my custom one and cawl if needed. I have the official Archmagos/dominus still waiting to be finished. This model I had for a while waiting to be finished. I have changed my style since I started painting her so I started from scratch. I liked this model and I think it will be a great stand in for a Dominus.
War Dog Executioner
I had a big Apoc game coming up and they requested me to bring my big knights. So I wanted to paint up this War Dog that has been patiently sitting only my pile of potential waiting for his day. That day finally came. I used a spray can of metallic red as a base then brought in the secondary colors. I had this guy when I had dreams of running so chaos knights. That dream is pretty much dead but I do have a custom knight I would like to finish that I can bring to some of the bigger games. That being said, he can just fill in with my other armigers as escorts for my Porphyrion.
Macrocarid Explorator
I had a Triaros Armoured Conveyor for my myrmidons but it really never did anything but run up the board and drop them off. In comes the Macrocarid Explorator. This machine is a beefy piece of resin. It comes with some bigger guns so it can fill a role on the battlefield once the payload is deployed. Right now it is ruleless but Games Workshop said they would have rules for it soon after release so I am eagerly awaiting its return.
Knight Moirax
My last model was a Knight Moirax. This is a mechanicum specific armiger. I thought the file I found was pretty close to the actual model but once I started painting it I noticed the differences. And once I saw them I new it was way off. I finished painting one and was able to half way finish the second by the time the big game came. Once used I decided to retire them since it was just not good enough for my tastes. I am in the process of replacing them. I am printing the first and the second will be interspersed with my larger prints.
The big game
I was able to play in a big game with my two warhounds, the Porphyrion, a Ceratus, and my armigers. While before this was a welcome addition I feel I was not really needed. There were several people from out of town that brought in bigger models and were there for a serious game. In my experience these games are not serious and when you start making them serious the fun just goes out the window. This might be my last game with this group and I will stick to my 30k friends for the big game. At least there we had some fun and even the smaller forces played a role.
Ther you have it. Another month in the books. I am currently working on a Reaver Titan which is almost finish printing and then off to other knights and big models. On the table, I have some tyranids to paint up, more Thallax, the tech priest mentioned earlier, and a new domitar. The Votann are getting ready to release some new models and I need to get back into 40k so I am ready for shorehammer. Maybe I will try to get into a learn to play session one night so I can get my basic foundation of the game back. I have a feeling I am going to be in for a rude awaking come December. We will see.
