I played a tyranid list this week.  Going into the game I was worried about the match up.  I was setup expecting a 3+ army so when I had all those defensive walls and saw his hordes I was not feeling good.you can find my list here: Ork List

Crossfire Defense and list

This week the league continues the Planetstrike missions.  Again we will use the first scenario.  I have decided to go with a crossfire defense layout. here is my proposed map.

Today I am going to describe how I made the defensive walls that I use in my planetstrike game.  they are pretty easy and look decent enough.

materials: Project bricks, foam board, paint, glue, paper mache.

Monday WIP update

Last week I did some work on my Ork Fort that I you can find Pic of here But to go with this fort I had to make some quad cannons and some defensive walls for the planetstrike defenses.

PlanetStrike Marines Vs Orks

Last night was the first night that we played a planetstrike scenario. Since I have a rather large ork army I was chosen as a defender.   My last couple of entries have been my setup and the army I was going to play.  Last night I got to play.  My setup was pretty close to what I planned except where I wanted ruins I had more forest and one of my battlewagons started in reserve.

Thursday is here and that means it is time for another league play list.  Although I was never given confirmation about being a defender this week I am pretty sure I will be.  If not, this list will be fun to play either way.  Here is what I got.

Planet Strike Defense

So, this week we start our planet strike games. Since I have a rather large group of Orks I have been deemed worthy of taking the honors of defending.  Today I thought I would looks at how I want to setup for the carnage.  

IG VS ORKS 1850

Last night was the first night of league play at my FLGS.  I am playing Orks for this league and I was prepared to play the list I had created which you can find here.  The big problem is I forgot my container that held my Bikes.  So with some quick thinking I subistuted a regular warboss and a group of nobs for the warboss and nobs on bikes and gave them a battlewagon.   My matchup for the evening was a mech IG.  He had:

Ork Bikes List

Tonight we are starting a new league at Fantasy Books and Games where the types of games we play change but, our codex will not.  I have chosen Orks since, I have not used them in a league for a while.  The first night of the league is a standard 1850 match.  I have never used my bikes before so I figured that, tonight I would try them out.  here is my list:

Ork Fort WIP

As I mentioned yesterday I and creating a Fort for my Orks to be used in  planet strike games.  If it turns out well, I might make a another so I can have 2 objectives when I am the defender.  So, first I will put up some pictures and then will talk about what more I want to do.

Necron Vs Blood Angels 1850

Last night I took my Necron force up against a DoA Blood Angels list.  His list consisted of 2 Sang Guard groups with a librarian and priest in one and Dante and a priest in another, 2 Assault squads with 2 melta guns, and 2 5-man dev squad with rockets and a priest to help them.  We rolled kill points and spearhead.

Ghost Ark Take 1

It is Thursday, so that means it is time for a new list. Last week, a buddy of mine asked if we could play a game this week.  Seeing it is the last week before the leagues starts back up I agreed.  We then rolled a die to choose our Armies.  I got Necrons and he got Blood Angels.  In the spirit of friendly game play we said we would not tailor our list but use a list we previously built.  This was fine since my list are generally all comers lists. Here is what I got.

Looking for Wraith Models

Today I am going to look at some of the available Necron models that are out there to fill the rolls that GW has dragged their feet in bringing out. Whatever reason GW has for not giving us these models really does not change the fact that I need these models to play.  Sure making more crypteks is not hard.  I can do that but guys like Wraiths and Tomb Blades
are just not possible for some one like me who can not make something that looks close enough to satisfy my needs.

Monday WIP update

Hello again and welcome to another Monday morning update.  I did not get a lot of painting done this week.  This weekend I built one of the new nid models I think the tervigon is a nice looking model and will make a good addition to my army.  I now have 1 converted one and 1 official model.  The only problem I see with fielding 2 of these bad boys is that I am going to need a bunch more gaunts lol.

Last night, the guy I played didn't have 1850 and was getting back into the game playing a new codex (Necrons). While trying to relearn the game he was showing one of his friend the game.  So, I did a lot of teaching and tried to help my opponent relearn the game and explain rules to his friend. I always like to help the new guys because I know how it was when I started.

Well, it is Thursday again, time for me to go over my list for league play. For all you guys at Fantasy Books and Games this will give you an opportunity to see what I am running and make a list to smear me :)

This week I am bringing out the bugs.  I am not sure how competitive this list will be but, it is usually does pretty well.  I have added in some zoanthropes we will see how they do.
