Hello All, it has been an a couple of months since and update. So, this post is a 2 for 1 update covering both April and May. It has been a pretty light month with real life kicking my butt so much I haven’t felt like painting in the evening. So without further ado here is what I have done the last couple of months.
Lucius Pattern Warlord Legs
I continue to work on the warlord and in April I finished the base and his legs. This just leaves the guns to finish but those can go primed and still look great. I want to add some support for the shoulder guns, so they stay in better. Right now, they are a push fit that sometimes fall out. I an thinking of adding a rod to the back so it has a bit more to hold on to. I will see when I revisit this guy later.
Lucius Pattern Warhound
After working on the legs of the warlord I actually finished my second Lucius Patterned Warhound. I also have a Mars Pattern one as well. This one is mostly FDM printed and is done pretty well. If I ever have some hobby time, I might try to slice this into parts to try to hide the split a little better. I will have to see what I can do. I do love this model, and I will probably try to use one the next time I play 30k. That is if I ever get back into playing.
Knight Moirax
May saw a swing from the huge models to a slightly smaller model with the completion of the Moirax. This little kknight is the forgeworld equivalent of a armiger. There are two variants one with the lightning locks that I have here and another version with a claw and a few different cannons. I will eventually get around to getting these other arms and since the model is already magnetized it will be a simple swap if I ever want to field a different version.
Cerastus Knight
My buddy came back from Adepticon and was showing off his finds. He had this model from a vendor called Battle Casters. They have a bunch of knights that look a lot like the old armorcast or epic models of old. Once I saw this guy I knew I wanted to add him to my stable of knights. I magnetized the weapons so now I can field him as most of the Cerastus Knights. I finished painting the Castigator arms for the finished model but also have a set of lancer weapons as well as atrapos. I also did some modding on an Atrapos head to give him an even more unique look.
Hestarii
Lastly I have left the titans and started to paint some small units. This is a new kit for the admech. I have chaned up my paint scheme for these guys so they will stand out a bit on the battlefield. I doubt I will ever go back and repaint models, but this will be the way forward.I just like the metallic purple more than the flat purple. I also think I will paint my leaders in the same style as my 30k army. This will tie the armies together as well as let my leaders stand out on the battlefield. I might just go back and repaint the leaders of my mechaicus army. We shall see.
That is all for the two months. I have done a few big models with my focus has been printing the big boys. I have a bunch of small models that I want to paint so maybe I will focus on them for a while. Next month the new edition comes out with a bunch of ork models. This might be like last edition where the new xenos models take over my hobby life. I doubt I will get 2 boxes though since I don’t need more boys, grots, nob banners, pain boys or warboses. I could use a few new midbosses thought but I don’t want just one pose so I will probably print a few as well. We shall see. Have a good one and find some time in your day to slay the gray.
