Work Complete: Harpy

I completed my Harpy for this weekends game.  I am happy how it turned out.  If I had a steadier hand or more patience I could do better highlights but my hands are what they are and I do the best I can.

Wednesday night I spent the evening working on my prime. I am happy to say he is finished.   take a look.

I continue to prepare for the tournament at the end of the month I hope to have my army fully painted.  While my schedule is tight I only have the Harpy to finish, the prime to finish, some spore mines to paint and my objective markers to finish.  It is a tall order.

WIP Exocrine

The last couple of days I have been painting my Exocrine incase I need him for the tournament on the 30th.  this model used to be my Tyranofex(Tfex) before there was a Tfex model.  After he took a nose dive, I looked at what I had and decided he could be modeled as a Exocrine.

With an upcoming tournament I thought I would put a few lists together and see how the look. It is 1000 points anything goes. We will also be using the maelstrom of war missions. This month is bug month so the Tyranids will be taking the field.

After a fun Ork month, it is time for the bugs to play.  I have not gotten to play with the new bugs before this week. Earlier this week, I played my bugs at the local GW store. I tried out my artillery formation with out much success.  I just did not have the ability to bring down his Wraith knights.  Those guys are tough. While I was there, I found out about a 1000 point tournament that they are having at the end of the month.

I finished my big mek on bike.  I liked how he turned out.  I know I wanted to add some chipped paint but I really didn't like the tutorials I found so unless I get some better help I will keep him as is.

This weekend I went to a local game store.  They don't have any gaming room but they do sell second hand models. In this bargain bin I found a set of cadin heavy weapon teams (HWT) still on the sprue and another model that I think is a priest.  I got all this for $15.

After posting yesterday's post I got a couple of comments telling me that I need a little more oomph to my model to make the Kustom Force Field (KFF) stand out. While I am happy with what I have done, I have had a nagging feeling in the back of my mind pretty much telling me the same thing.  I acquired a KFF from a morkanaut that I am thinking about cutting up to make the iconic KFF towers now I just have to figure out how to place them.
